Nomination Information for Board of Directors and Officers

TDIAI Members: In accordance with the Texas Division of the IAI’s protocol for solicitation of nominations, please accept this email as the official call for nominations. (See the below list of eligible positions for this year.) The job duties and descriptions that are listed below do not cover all of the position’s responsibilities. Refer to the TDIAI By-Laws for additional duties and responsibilities that are required.
Board of Directors: - Board of Director Position (2028) - Board of Director Position (2028) - Board of Director Position (2028) To be eligible for a Board of Directors position, you must be an active or associate member in good standing for at least five (5) consecutive years. The Board of Directors outlines the program and activities of the TDIAI Conference and has control of the affairs of the TDIAI during its recess. They also determine the location of the annual Educational Conference. Other duties of the Board of Directors can be found in the TDIAI By-Laws listed online. Sergeant-At-Arms: To be eligible for the Sergeant-At-Arms position, you must be an active or associate member in good standing for at least five (5) consecutive years. The Sergeant-At-Arms shall have command of the outer door of the conference hall and will permit none to enter who are not properly qualified. The Sergeant-At-Arms shall serve on the Conference Site Committee, assist the President in preserving order and may perform such other duties as the President or Board of Directors may direct. Submission Instructions: You may nominate yourself or another member. If nominating another member, please CC them on your email. All nominations must be emailed to nominations@tdiai.org and shall include a vision statement. Emailed nominations and vision statements are due no later than 06/06/2025. If a nomination does not meet the requirements of the position, the nominated person will receive an email detailing why they were disqualified. Nominations from the floor will be accepted during the business meeting which will be held on Friday, June 13th during the TDIAI Annual Educational Conference. Nominations from the floor will be required to give a brief, verbal vision statement prior to the membership vote.

Board of Directors Member
President
To be eligible for the President’s position, you must be an active or associate member in good standing for at least five (5) consecutive years. The President shall preside at all meetings of the TDIAI, supervise all affairs of the organization, and labor for its usefulness and efficiency.
First Vice-President
To be eligible for the First Vice-President’s position, you must be an active or associate member in good standing for at least five (5) consecutive years. The First Vice-President shall act as presiding officer of the TDIAI during the absence or temporary disability of the President.
Second Vice-President
To be eligible for the Second Vice-President’s position, you must be an active or associate member in good standing for at least five (5) consecutive years. The Second Vice-President shall act as presiding officer of the TDIAI during the absence or temporary disability of the President and the First Vice-President.
Sergeant-At-Arms
To be eligible for the Sergeant-At-Arms position, you must be an active or associate member in good standing for at least five (5) consecutive years. The Sergeant-At-Arms shall have command of the outer door of the conference hall and will permit only qualified members to enter during business meetings, serve on the Conference Site Committee, assist the President in preserving order and may perform such other duties as the President or Board of Directors may direct.
Secretary
To be eligible for the Secretary position, you must be an active or associate member in good standing. The Secretary shall be responsible for the keeping of a full and accurate account of all the proceedings of the Board of Directors meeting, general business meetings and educational sessions, and will perform such other duties as may be assigned to that office by the President or Board of Directors.
Treasurer
To be eligible for the Treasurer position, you must be an active or associate member in good standing. The Treasurer shall keep just and accurate records of all TDIAI accounts and draw warrants for the expenses of the TDIAI, when directed by the President or the Board of Directors.
Editor
To be eligible for the Editor position, you must be an active or associate member in good standing. The Editor shall receive and review all articles and items of interest to TDIAI membership for inclusion in the organization's official publication, the Lone Star Forensic Journal, on a bi-annual frequency. The Editor may perform other duties as assigned by the President or Board of Directors.
Submission Instructions
To nominate yourself or another member in good standing, please email the Secretary at nominations@tdiai.org. If nominating another member, please CC them on your email. All nominations must include a vision statement by the nominee, due no later than two weeks prior to the annual educational conference. If a nomination does not meet the requirements of the position, they will receive an email detailing why they were disqualified. A list of all nominations will be included in the conference registration packet for membership review.
Nominations from the floor will be accepted during the business meeting, held during the TDIAI Annual Educational Conference, and must have an occupanying verbal vision statement by the nominee prior to the membership vote.
